Many families in Sandwell are entitled to free school meals but have not yet applied. Registering for free school meals can help reduce household costs and may also provide additional funding to support your child's education.

Your child may be entitled to free school meals if you receive any of the following:

• Universal Credit
• Income Support
• Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance (JSA)
• Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
• Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
• The guaranteed element of Pension Credit
• Child Tax Credit (provided you are not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual household income of no more than £16,190)

Please note: Families receiving Universal Credit are now entitled to free school meals regardless of household earnings.

Even if your child already receives a meal through the Universal Infant Free School Meals scheme (Reception, Year 1 and Year 2), we encourage eligible families to register, as this may enable the school to receive additional funding to support children's learning.
