'Animal Lady' visits Year 1&3
On Tuesday 22nd November 2022, Angie’s Animal Antics visited Temple Meadow. Please see the below extract from Clarke in Year 3.
On Tuesday 22nd November 2022, Angie’s Animal Antics came into the school hall at 11am. She showed us some African animals related to our text, The Butterfly Lion.
First, she showed us Heather, the African Pigmy Hedgehog. Heather is 5 years old. She likes eating cat food, snails and worms.
Next, Gary the Giant African Snail. He is 8 years old and has 2 tentacles for eyes. Did you know snails lay up to 200 eggs every week?
Then Velcro, the Giant African Millipede. He has 300 legs. He eats fruit like oranges. Did you know that if you eat a millipede you’ll be poisoned because they are venomous?
After that came Chesney, the American Corn Snake. He sheds his skin every 2-3 months to grow. He likes mice and he is cold to touch.
Finally, Wobble, The African Scops Owl. Wobble is 9 years old and he comes out at dusk to dawn. He has a furry mustache and is grey and white.
