Dear Families,

As we move further into the autumn term, it’s wonderful to see how learning is in full swing across all year groups! Our classrooms are buzzing with energy and curiosity, and I’m proud of the dedication our children are showing.

To keep you closely connected with your child's learning journey, we have published our year group curriculum newsletters on the class pages of our school website. These newsletters offer an overview of what your child will be learning this term, giving you the opportunity to stay informed and engaged.

We firmly believe that family engagement is a crucial part of your child's success. When families and schools work together, we create a supportive learning environment that enhances progress, both academically and socially. Your involvement makes a tremendous difference and we encourage you to take a moment to review the curriculum and find ways to actively support your child’s education at home.

We look forward to welcoming our second intake of Nursery children on Monday 30th October 2024. Starting Nursery is a big step and we are committed to making sure this transition is smooth and enjoyable for both the children and their families.

Celebration School Lunch

We are pleased to inform you that all children in Reception, Year 1, and Year 2 will be provided with a meal on Census Day on Thursday 3^rd October 2024, from our ‘Celebration Menu’. This is an important day for our school, as the number of children having a school meal on this day helps to determine the funding that we receive to support our educational provision.

We encourage all families to take advantage of this opportunity by ensuring your children enjoy a free meal on Census Day. It's a great way for your child to experience our delicious school meals and it will also benefit the school by securing funding.

For those who typically bring packed lunches to school, this is an excellent opportunity for them to try a freshly prepared school lunch.

Forest School

I’m excited to share that our Reception Forest School is

now in full swing and
children are thoroughly enjoying their outdoor learning adventures! It’s been wonderful to see their enthusiasm as they explore nature, develop new skills, and build confidence through hands-on activities in our natural environment.

Forest School is such a valuable part of our curriculum, providing opportunities for children to connect with nature, work together, and discover new ways to learn beyond the classroom. We look forward to seeing their continued growth and development throughout the year.

Music

We are excited to share that our Year 4 students have begun their journey with the P-Bone, while our Year 5 students are diving into the world of the ukulele! These music lessons are part of our commitment to providing wider opportunities for our children and enriching their educational experiences.

Learning to play an instrument is not only a fun and engaging activity, but it also helps develop valuable skills such as teamwork, discipline, and creativity. We believe that music plays a vital role in a child’s development, and we are thrilled to see our childrren embracing these new challenges.

Speech and Language Therapy

At Temple Meadow, we have made speech, language, and communication support a priority by investing in an enhanced level of service. This year, we are excited to welcome Sophie Kingston, our Speech and Language Therapist, who brings a wealth of skills and expertise to support our children.

If you have any questions or concerns about your child's speech, language, or communication development, please do not hesitate to reach out to Mrs. Lowe, who leads on Speech and Language Therapy (SALT) across the school. We are committed to ensuring that every child receives the support they need to thrive.

New Play Equipment

We are thrilled to announce that as part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing childrens' learning experience, we have investing in brand-new climbing equipment for our Early Years playground! This exciting addition has provided a fun and engaging area to help our children develop important physical skills, such as balance, coordination, and strength, while encouraging imaginative play and teamwork.

Reception 2025 Spaces

The application window for Reception 2025 spaces opened on Monday 16th September. If you have a child or know someone due to start school in September 2025, please tell them why Temple Meadow is the perfect place for their child's education!
