Dear Families,

I hope everyone has managed to stay safe and warm during Storm Eowyn, which has affected many parts of the UK. A big thank you to all the families who have already shared their feedback through the Home Learning Questionnaire – we’ve received 49 responses so far.

There’s still time to complete it, so please don’t forget to submit your response by the deadline, which is late on Tuesday 28th January 2025.

Home Learning Questionnaire

Additionally, we have a few spaces left on the Home Learning Working Party Group. Our meeting will be on Monday 3rd February at 9am. If you’re interested in joining, please email tm.admin@meadow.sandwell.sch.uk to express your interest.

Thank you for your continued support!

Greek Pots

This week, Year 5 have been working on their Art Commission, creating Ancient Greek vases. The children have thoroughly enjoyed studying the intricate designs and crafting their own sculptures.

I’m also pleased to announce that Dracco was named Star of the Week for his exceptional hard work. It’s always a joy to celebrate the children’s efforts!

I’m excited to share some of their fantastic outcomes with you all.

Reception Space Day

We are gearing up for an exciting journey through space and the solar system! Our inflatable planetarium will be on site next week and children will get to experience the wonders of the night sky and distant planets. They'll also take part in astronaut training, hands-on activities and even hear a story from a real-life astronaut!

This week, the children have been looking at planet earth and Miss Hodgetts has been really impressed with outcomes by Phoebe, Evni and ?

Please remember, all Reception children should come dressed as astronauts! Whether it’s a simple white t-shirt or something creative made from recycled materials, we can't wait to see their space-themed costumes.

Nursery September 2025

😀We are thrilled to announce that nursery registrations are now being welcomed for the upcoming September 2024 intake. If you are considering giving your child a wonderful start to their educational journey, now is the perfect time to secure a place in our nurturing and vibrant nursery environment.

📄Applying for a Nursery place is easy; simply collect an application form form the School Office and return it alongside your child's birth certificate.

Excellent Maths Work!

Miss Dale gave a Deputy Headteacher award to Milo this week for his efforts in Maths. Well done Milo!

We understand mornings can sometimes be a rush, but arriving at school on time is so important for your child's well-being and success. Why Being On Time Matters: Supports Mental Health: Starting the day calmly and on schedule helps children feel more secure and less stressed. Boosts Confidence: Arriving on time means your child won't miss out on important morning routines or lessons, which sets them up for a positive and productive day. Encourages Responsibility: Punctuality is an essential life skill that builds respect for others' time. Even being a few minutes late can cause anxiety for children as they try to catch up with their peers and adjust to the flow of the day. Let's work together to ensure every child gets the best start to their day. A well-prepared and on-time arrival sets the tone for a confident and happy learner. Thank you for your continued support in fostering a positive learning environment for all our children.

Our Lady of Lourdes church, 228 Halesowen Rd, Old Hill, B64 6HN runs a Fareshare every Tuesday morning from 11.00am – 1.00pm which supports about 35 local people and families in need with food donations.

They are in great need of volunteers to help them continue to support the local community.

Volunteers are needed for a range of roles such as welcoming people, making tea and coffee, helping pack the food bags and simply talking to people so there is a role for everyone.

Volunteers are only needed from 11am – 1.00pm on a Tuesday and you can choose how often you help out.

If you are interested, please call into Our Lady of Lourdes on a Tuesday morning between 11.00am – 1.00pm and ask for Margaret or Joan.
