Space Day

Wow, what an amazing day our Reception team had this week for Space Day! A huge thanks to all our families who supported by sending their children dressed in their best space gear. We had a visiting planetarium and the children were absolutely mesmerised.
Their day began as they entered ‘space school,’ listening to music and travelling
to the moon. We admired everyone’s fantastic costumes before heading out to the playground for astronaut training. After counting down from 10 to 0, the children completed astronaut exercises and worked in teams to collect as many moon rocks as possible.
Inside the planetarium, they explored the solar system and discovered fascinating facts about the planets. It was truly an awe-inspiring experience for everyone.
Throughout the afternoon, the children engaged in a variety of space-themed activities, including making space passports, rescuing astronauts from ice, launching flying rockets, and exploring fizzy moon rockets and water.
The day ended with some exciting science experiments—what a fantastic way to wrap up!
Both children and staff thoroughly enjoyed the day—it was a BLAST! A huge thank you to our Reception teaching team for creating such a memorable learning experience for all.
