We hope you have all had a lovely week. It has been a much quieter one for us in school.

Thank you again for supporting your children with our new home learning approach. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading and celebrating as many of the written outcomes as possible this week.

A huge thank you to some of our Governors who visited school this week to have lunch with our KS2 Pupil Parliament. The children were fascinated to hear about their role in school and really enjoyed spending time with them. I have included some of their comments and feedback further below.

Next week marks the official first day of spring! On Tuesday, we welcome Josie, our school improvement advisor, into school for a learning walk of our classrooms and school environments and I’m sure I will be able to share some of her feedback later this term.

Upcoming Coffee Morning – Save the Date!

We have so many special guests joining us, including the Occupational Therapist, School Health Nurse, and Kaleidoscope Plus. This is a great opportunity to come along for an informal chat, whether you have something specific to discuss or just want to enjoy a drink, a piece of cake, and a friendly conversation with other parents and school staff.

Red Nose Day with Hoop Guy!

Next week, we are excited to celebrate Red Nose Day with a special visit from Hoop Guy!

• Wednesday 19th March – Year 1, Year 3, and Year 5 will have their sessions with Hoop Guy.
• Friday 21st March – Year 2, Year 4, and Year 6 will take part.

On Friday 21st March, children are invited to join in the fun by coming to school with funny hair and/or a red nose!

We’re also encouraging everyone to bring loose change to place along our red track—let’s see how far we can stretch it in support of this fantastic cause!

Huggle Pets

Our Huggle Pets therapy sessions continue to bring a wonderful variety of animals into school. This week, our groups were introduced to Rosie the Rat, Roachy the Cockroach and Mervie the Millipede. The children love these sessions, which provide unique opportunities for learning, engagement and emotional well-being.

To help ensure as many children as possible can access Huggle Pets next academic year, our pupils will be announcing some exciting fundraising events soon—keep your eyes peeled for further details!

Governor Lunch

This week, our Key Stage 2 Pupil Parliament representatives had lunch with four of our Governors: Claire, Annie, Sarah and Phoebe. The children began the session with very little understanding of the role of governance at Temple Meadow, so it was a fantastic opportunity for them to ask questions and learn more—both about our Governors personally and about their responsibilities.

Here is a summary from two of our Head Girls:

We are the Pupil Parliament, and we had a great time enjoying our delicious meal with the Governors. We had the chance to ask them lots of questions and learnt that they all bring different skills to their roles as Governors.

Claire, our Vice Chair, is a retired Sandwell Headteacher. All of the Governors shared that their goal is to help make our school a fun and safe place for everyone to learn. We didn’t realise that governance is a voluntary role, so we really appreciate all the time, support and input they give to Temple Meadow!

Bike and Scooter Racks

A huge thank you to everyone who completed the questionnaire regarding the bike and scooter rack. We have had an overwhelming number of responses, showing that a secure place to store bikes and scooters during the school day is something many of you would value and appreciate.

We are now working hard to see how quickly we can get something appropriately organised. We will, of course, keep you updated on our progress.

Home Learning

This week, we have been truly impressed with the fantastic home learning writing outcomes from our children. From imaginative stories to beautifully detailed reports, it has been wonderful to see the effort, creativity, and enthusiasm shining through.

A huge well done to all our young writers who have embraced their home learning tasks with such dedication.

We love seeing how learning continues beyond the classroom; keep up the great work, everyone!
